FMLN 44%, ARNEA 36%, and UNIDAD 14% show last polls in El Salvador

FMLN outperforms ARENA in last poll done by the University Jose Simeon Canas (UCA) in El Salvador's presidential elections.

The most recent survey by the Institute of Public Opinion of the UCA University (IUDOP) reveals that the FMLN is leading by more than seven percentage points over its rival ARENA.

The survey conducted by IUDOP's academic team gives 43.7% of the votes to FMLN, 36% the ARENA and 14% to Unidad (GANA, PDC, PCN) .

When asked about the presidential candidates, 38.4% of the voters prefers Salvador Sanchez Ceren, 33.4% supports Norman Quijano, and 16.6% Antonio Saca.

The director of IUDOP, Jeannette Aguilar, said none of the candidates has enough support to win in the first round.

FMLN campaign manager Roberto Lorenzana, however, says that the FMLN is operating on a first round victory mode.
