Yesterday in a radio talk show, in contradictory terms, Lisseth Quijano, daughter of ARENA presidential candidate, Norman Quijano, criticized the Funes Administration, but at the same time approved and applauded one of the most recognized social initiatives of the Funes Administration: Ciudad Mujer, an innovative social service for the integration of women in all aspects of Salvadoran life, from health care provision, to technical training, to creating a new business.
The statements of the daughter of Quijano were given during an interview this past Wednesday at Radio Sonora in San Salvador.
When she was asked, should Ciudad Mujer Continue, “definitely, any government program that benefits the Salvadoran people, of course, it should continue” she answered in a tone that greatly differentiates from her political party and her dad, who until now does not include keeping Ciudad Mujer in his program, despite the fact that it has benefited over 200,000 Salvadoran women.
FMLNs presidential ticket, Salvador and Oscar, has publicly repeated that Ciudad Mujer is the starship of the social agenda taking place in El Salvador and it is included in the FMLN’s Government Plan.

The presidential candidate of the FMLN and Vice President of El Salvador, Salvador Sanchez Ceren, said that his political party, FMLN, abides by the resolution of the Constitutional Chamber of El Salvador, which on Monday October 14, 2013, ruled that the appointment of Solomon Padilla, as President of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), was unconstitutional.
"We abide by the decision of the Constitutional Chamber, we do not want instability and lawlessness in El Salvador," said Sanchez Ceren this morning during the inauguration of XXXI Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL ), held today in San Salvador.
The Vice President considered that the SCJ of El Salvador cannot be left “leaderless” in a time that the country is about to celebrate a presidential election.
For his part, Secretary General of the FMLN, Medardo Gonzalez, criticized the decision of the Court, but said his party will abide by the decision.
Both statements were given during the inauguration of XXXI Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL ), held today in San Salvador.
Padilla had been elected President of the Supreme Court of Justice in August 2012.

FMLN Presidential Formula initiated this weekend its 2014 Victory Tour, reaching over 500,000 people nationwide.
The FMLN’s 2014 Victory Tour initiated this past weekend. The parade was led by presidential ticket, Salvador Sanchez Ceren and Oscar Ortiz, reaching over 500,000 people, in 9 major cities throughout El Salvador, with over 16,000 vehicles packed with thousands of followers.
The parade set off Saturday morning in Apopa and ended Sunday night in Zacatecoluca, stopping in 7 major cities: Santa Ana, Ahuachapan, Sonsonate, Santa Tecla, San Rafael Cedros, San Miguel and Usulutan.
From the top of a tall vehicle, presidential ticket Salvador and Oscar told followers repeatedly, "We are ready to govern El Salvador; we are ready to win the 2014 elections".
"We were the first presidential formula to officially enroll our candidacy in this campaign, so in February 2, 2014, we will win the elections in the first round," shouted loud and clear Salvador Sanchez Ceren, FMLN presidential candidate, in his speech at Nicolas Peña Park, in Zacatecoluca, a major cross-road city in the central region of El Salvador.
"I managed more than $800 million while I was the Secretary of Education; and Oscar, as the mayor of Santa Tecla, also managed millions of dollars, and we managed those resources with honesty and transparency, because we are respectful of people's money, that is why our National Audit Office gave us the green light” said Sanchez Ceren, in allusion to the clearance problems ARENA’s candidate is having with public auditors before he can officially enroll as presidential candidate in the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, entity in charge of organizing the elections in El Salvador.
The crowds applauded FMLN’s presidential formula as the candidates presented their government plan. "Vote for jobs, vote for safety, vote for education," said Sanchez Ceren to a nearby group that saluted him as he passed by.
On Saturday night his running mate, Oscar Ortiz, reminded thousands of attendees in Sonsonate that the FMLN’s formula is the only formula that stands tall against corruption.
Nationwide, Sanchez Ceren and Ortiz greeted thousands of Salvadorans who, despite the rain and hot temperatures, accompanied the formula and joined a huge caravan that gathered 6,000 cars on Saturday, and more than 10,000 on Sunday.
Salvador and Oscar made a triumphal entry in each of the cities they visited and expressed confidence to thousands of followers and supporters that they will achieve victory next year.
