FMLN's campaign close crowds San Salvador
FMLN drew more than 350,000 people, who gathered in El Paseo Escalon, San Salvador’s main avenue, last Saturday in El Salvador, as the campaign's official period comes to an end.
FMLN’s Presidential Formula, Salvador and Oscar, closed the official period of the presidential election campaign in El Salvador, with a strong concentration of people coming from all corners of El Salvador.
Local police authorities estimate more than 350,000 people gathered in El Paseo General Escalon, and its proximities, saturday evening, where the FMLN campaign officials decided to bring their supporters and followers as the campaign to elect the president and vice-president ends.
“The massive crowd is an attempt to build enough support and momentum as to win the presidential elections in El Salvador in the first round, in February 2, 2014,” said Alcides Herrera - a top campaign aid to the press.
Sanchez Ceren arrived in light blue, accompanied by pop-star Alvaro Torres to salute the crowd.
"I'm sure the people of El Salvador, on February 2, will participate in our country’s elections and they will vote for the FMLN, they will vote for the future, they will vote for us ," said Sanchez Ceren as the people applauded throughout El Paseo Escalon, the same place where the FMLN celebrated their historic victory in 2009.
