Former President Francisco Flores appears before special prosecutors at the Attorney General’s Office in El Salvador
Former President Francisco Flores attended this Friday an interview scheduled by the Office of the Attorney General of El Salvador. The interview is an opportunity so that Mr. Francisco Flores can provide a statement about the case of $10 million donation he received from the government of Taiwan, an unofficial source told reporters in El Salvador .
Another journalistic source confirmed on his Facebook account "The Attorney General Office confirms that the president Francisco Flores went this morning to testify in the case regarding Suspicious Transaction Report for the alleged $ 10 million grant from the Government of Taiwan ". The note was then published in a local newspaper.
A few days ago the Attorney General, Luis Martinez, confirmed that the former president would be referred to the Attorney General's Office as part of the research and hopefully that would confirms the whereabouts of the funds he received from the government of Taiwan.
The President of El Salvador, Mauricio Funes, has insisted that the prosecution must investigate the case and not deviate on other issues related to how he obtained the document from the Department of Treasury of the United States, alerting the suspicious transactions former president Flores had made back in 2001.
So far nothing is known about the details of the statement provided by former president Flores in his appearance before especial prosecutors at the Office of the Attorney General.
