"This road is used by a large population, in a highly productive area of sugarcane, coffee and cereals, that connects us to Guatemala" said Corvera pointing out the economic importance of the region and the impeccable job done by Gerson Martinez as one the cabinet members best evaluated by the Salvadoran people in the Funes Administration. The stretch of the road to be fixed and paved is about 17 kilometer long and it will improve the economic performance of the whole municipality.

FMLN's presidential ticket was accompanied Governor of Santa Ana, Mario Jovel, member of the National Assembly for the Department of Santa Ana, Roberto Lorenzana , Calchuapa’s acting mayor, Irma Sanabria and the mayor of Santa Ana, Alfredo Peñate.

The FMLN’s candidates highlighted the achievements of the government in economic matters like the creation of  La Banca de Desarrollo (Development Bank) and soft credits made available to small and medium entrepreneurs. As for the social achievements, Sanchez Ceren and Oscar Ortiz mentioned Schools Packages (lunch, uniform and shoes) for students, Agro-Packages (seeds, technical raining) for farmers, and Ciudad Mujer, an innovative social initiative for the integration of women in all aspects of Salvadoran life, from giving birth, to creating and opening up a business.
